When Sparrows Fall

24 06 2015

So just how valuable are YOU and I to God?  Well aside from the ultimate sacrifice of His son Jesus on the cross, (John 3:16 tells us:  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.)  The following passages remind us how great our God is and how much He loves us:

Matthew 10:29

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.    (Can you imagine that?  In this hustle and bustle world that God has created, He KNOWS when a single sparrow falls?  Believe it!  It’s true!)

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.  (Again, we are reminded that God does not forget even a sparrow.  We are also reminded how much more valuable we are than sparrows.)

1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.

5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;  if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

For God So Loved The World…

6 02 2014

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)   Never forget…  God has far too much invested in you to walk away and leave you on your own.
